This is the webspace of Dirk Reiners, assistant professor in the Center for Advanced Computer Studies at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette. I'm also a research fellow at the Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise.
My main interests are efficient interaction in large models, software systems for interactive 3D graphics applications and Virtual Reality as well as high-quality, high-resolution displays. I'm also very interested in game development (as that's where a lot of the interesting Computer Graphics work is happening). There are more details in the Research section. A list of my publications is in the Publications section.
I have worked and am working with a number of very bright and motivated students, see the Students section for information about them. If you think you should be one of them, take a look at the Advising section.
So far I've mainly been teaching in Programming Languages and Computer Graphics, for details see the Teaching section.
If you want to know more about what I've done in the past and where I come from, check out the About Me section.
The (by far) best way to contact me is via email to dirk@louisiana.edu.
As I have two offices (one is ACTR 346, the other is in LITE), it's not always easy to find me. I'm very flexible, just send me an email and we will be able to meet within a few days.
