Chad's been working with me on different little things for quite a while before he switched working for me full time on the Graphics Hardware Performance project. Due to his deep interest in languages it was only a logical step to do a thesis on a language topic. Looking at shading languages seemed to be a logical choice, and using a functional approach made a lot of sense for the stream-oriented graphics hardware. He's now working for a start-up in California (IMVU) doing render engine and user interface work.
